Combining a strong academic and hands-on program with the assets of a large medical school, affords a tremendous learning experience for the surgical resident. Thus, the vast majority of our surgical training occurs at Mass General, consistently ranked the among the top hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than half of our residents elect to take time away from clinical training, usually two years, for research or to pursue advanced degrees.
