The show,Phantom of the opera is the winner of more than 50 major theatre awards,including three Olivier Awards in the West End and seven Tonys on Broadway. Would recommend to all - we chose cheap seats and though view was restricted it didn’t spoil the show in any great way. I was not really that excited but I was utterly blown away! Both of the casts I saw was phenomenal; my mother was with me when I saw the show here a second time, and said that the performers far surpassed the ones we've seen in touring productions of Phantom back home.
During the intermission one of the ushers near the bar (notice- near the bar- again, no photos of or around the stage area after the show has started) offered to take our photo which was very sweet of him. The day of our show, we experienced no issues with picking up our tickets at the theater (which is always something we usually worry about when a decent amount of money is involved). Still, their connection remains inviolable, even when Christine tumbles for Raoul. After the production starts no photos are allowed of the stage or set (which is entirely understandable in my opinion) however the ushers were extremely loud (essentially yelling) at people who were unaware and had pulled their cameras/phones out to take photos. As usual, theatre fans will be able to access the show from 7.00pm this Friday 17th April, totally free of charge, however, in the UK the show will only be available via the channel for 24hrs (so a Friday night viewing/Saturday matinee is advised!). The Phantom of the Opera remains a stunning production that engages the ear, the eye and the heart. Promise.
