I feel the job is flexible and a good balance with personal life. Work-life balance could use some work, compensation is pretty good. Flexible schedules. People who were knowledgeable in hospice and worked there for a long time were passed on for people who drove the positions into the ground, all because they talk smooth.

Our community is ready to answer. It used to always be about the patients. Being able to make your own schedule, basically be your own boss and be home at night because of the flexible schedule. I organize my own schedule unless an admission is scheduled by our intake department which is fine because we are here to be flexible and care for others. Company doesn't allow retirement contributions until 6 months of employment. Feels great to be appreciated. You had to figure a lot of things out on your own at times, which sometimes had you feeling uncomfortable. At St Croix i enjoy the teamwork our company has.

I have never felt "micromanaged" and have the flexibility I need to change my schedule to fit my needs at times. I really enjoy what I do; I am a Chaplain for St. Croix Hospice and spend the majority of my day interacting with patients and their families. St. Croix Hospice cares for patients where ever they call home which can mean some team members are on the road more than others. We want to help you find great companies. But the best part is being able to be a part of these families lives and make an impact in the last minutes, days, or weeks of their lives. If you are a nurse that is looking for a job that truly makes a difference this is it. WOW this company supports the employees with everything!! Overall, I am happy with St.Croix. I consider it a blessing to be able to care for patients and their families at the end of their life. Staffing can be a challenge at times due to growth. As an award-winning hospice care organization, we earn our reputation by focusing on the individual needs of you and your loved ones. I was not able to make plans or appointments around my work schedule due to not knowing what time I would be done with work. In the past 7 years I have seen St. Croix grow from a handful of branches in Minnesota to presence in five states. Typical day is spent with patients, but also families offering support at the end of life. The team spirit is wonderful. Workload was unreasonable. I have been a Registered Nurse for 35+ years and St Croix Hospice is by far the best company I have worked for. Manager is excellent. I enjoy being able to schedule my own patient visits.
