Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. I have fostered 17 dogs for Angels over almost 4 years and he was one of the sweetest, most loving creatures I've had the pleasure to help. For a week I couldn't get him out of my head so I finally filled out the adoption papers. I foster pregnant moms and puppies for this organization they goeabove and beyond to care for these dogs. I wanted to make sure that the mission of this organization was to save lives and not make a political statement. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to be an adopter. I am a donor and volunteer for Angels Among Us and recently fostered a wonderful Cocker Spaniel named Becker a few months ago. Our rescue group has a NO DOG LEFT BEHIND POLICY which means that when we pull an animal from the shelter whatever and how many are in that cage with them, we rescue them all.
They have made me a better person. Within no time, we found ourselves going to see a litter of puppies. However, there are times it is a financial struggle.
09/27/2019. Their process is a little slower than walking in and walking out with an animal, but that is because they care about making sure the animal ends up in a good home. She was about an hour late, and we had arrived early to make sure we got the puppy we wanted, so that was irritating. With no physical facilities to maintain, we operate through a network of volunteers and foster homes. Yes, I had come to transport one dog, but I wanted to save them all. I spent the time talking with the other fosters. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life. They don't choose certain breeds. I have fostered almost 100 dogs for Angels Among Us and the support from everybody involved, the outstanding level of veterinary care, the incredible willingness the save the more difficult cases, the determination to help the emotionally and physically "broken" ones, makes AAU the BEST rescue I have ever worked with .

In addition to being sterilized and vaccinated, the cats are "ear-tipped" for easy identification. She puts so much into the cats. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue rescued my German Shepherd from animal control 7 years ago when he was about 8 weeks old. His intestines were exposed and he was in horrific pain, with puncture wounds all over his tiny body, but he was still alive.
During that Summer, the rescue group acquired an abused kitten named Devin. My life would not be the same without them or my little man! She gave me the dog she had told me that was "hell on wheels" .

Not only are we fosters but we actually faster filled one of our dogs.
Dogs hit by a car. But the sense of community and willingness to help from Foster to foster, transportation, screening applications, and so much more is beyond amazing. Both volunteering and adopting thru AAU has been so rewarding. Her foster did a great job getting her skin back on track with the aid of the Angels Amoung Us Vet team. He was thrown out of a moving car with his 2 siblings and Angels saved him. I didnât plan to adopt again. We adopted an Angels dog and he has made a wonderful addition to our family! Support Adoption and Rescue. It is Angels Among Us policy to perform home checks prior to adoption finalization. Little milestones to the average pet owner became huge victories for us. Very professional, friendly and efficient! We had been volunteers with AAU for a while helping with transports and temp fostering for precious fur babies, when we got the opportunity to temp foster Gracie, her mom and 2 siblings. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is one of the most dedicated, honest, and hard working group of animal rescue volunteers I have ever come across. AAU goes above and beyond to save dogs and to find them a great home. We adopted our sweet Lola in March 2016 from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. I would give AAU 10 Stars!
