Even when one is a poorer story the writing still makes me happy to read it. I read the play while watching a performance of it, which was great for enhancing the experience and it helped to keep me motivated to go through it faster, which is always a plus with required reading for me.

The author adds nothing beyond the minimum requirement for the physical conte. This makes the play very readable, and thus I'd highly recommend it to all fans of Agatha Christie as well as to readers who wish to tip their toes into play. The characters are well-written, they're so different and real, wow. It's been one of the quickest books I literally "swallowed"!

Not for me. of the story that became the longest running play in history plus 4 Miss Marple stories and 3 Hercule Poirot short stories and one about Mr. Harley Quin aka The Love Detective. You won't find anything under 3 though. She covers books, dance, film, theater, music, museums and travel. I find that trying to review this work is far more difficult then it should be given how complete and unsympathetic my distain for almost every aspect of it is. Christie's ability to craft good characters shines throughout all of her work and it's character that drives the stories.

First though I have to say I love Christie's books. Improbably named Christopher Wren (Alex Goodrich) barges in like a golfer who orange-dyed his green garb to create a new kind of clown chic matching his bozo-with-a-part coif. Unfortunately me and my partner had a really bad experience watching the show. Whether this is the play that created the tropes of the locked mansion mystery — ala Clue, Gosford Park, etc — or merely the one the best capitalized on it, I am uncertain. “The Mousetrap," of course, is a masterpiece of misdirection.

This was a simply delightful play, and it reads so very much like Christie's novels. Some which don't fit the following author review will be done as individual reviews but most will have this review added. Her books aren't blood-soaked horror fests but death is still the constant character that sidles throughout picking off victims as required. I'm going to split this into sections. Interesting side note that the name of this detective is the same ( circa several decades prior) as the inamorata of DC Comics villain The Joker. The Mousetrap, we learn from the program notes, is the longest running play in London, opened on November 25, 1952, and still going! In its current revival at Court Theatre, that does seem to be the operative word in Sean Graney’s directorial mandate. A wooden or plastic base contains a simple spring-loaded device with a bit of bait on one end and a thin metal bar on the other. After the show we asked to speak the manager who said she would have moved us to the box In the interval and that all we could do is write to someone called Demian and that she could not do anything for us such as reimbursing some of the money for ticket and disappointingly all she stated was ‘ if you’d told me sooner I would have moved you to a free seat’.
