I know they’re just for theatre students with NY library cards, but those are the recordings I would pay some serious money to see! Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. Positive & Negative Reviews: BroadwayHD - 10 Similar Apps & 592 Reviews. Hi, everyone!

I really wish they had more access to new/in-demand/rotating content, but I also understand the complex reasons why that’s not possible. I have an old Fire TV. Starring: Sheridan Smith , Darius Campbell , Nigel Barber , et al.

And nothing seems exclusive, like I could find it for free just by googling it! I'm happy to hear your thoughts even if you don't have a subscription! but some low-budget shows have done it legally and to some success. Available on iOS, AppleTV, Android, Roku, Amazon Firestick and Web. There's just not enough content to justify a monthly bill. EDIT: And aren’t all shows recorded for archival purposes anyway?

Today, news broke that producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley launched BroadwayHD, a video streaming site which aims to offer plays and musicals as Netflix and Hulu do with movies and TV shows.

The content is decent, but not much to keep me coming back. Read more. I get a subscription for a month every few months and cancel it just to catch up on what i haven’t seen yet.

Yeah, that’s how I feel.

I totally agree. Watching through my laptop was fine but I wanted to watch on my TV and had to manually hook it up, something I haven't had to do since getting my Chromecast. What do you think?

It is a cool idea but I think a bit flawed for now. Maybe it’s because I’m in a bit of a Broadway bubble since most of my friends are into it, but if Great Comet was available to stream for a few months after it closed, I feel like it could have made back some of its money.
Idk!

I was wondering if anyone on here has/has had a subscription to BroadwayHD and what they thought of it. I don’t think there’s enough to keep me subscribed. 1.0 out of 5 stars Can't Watch and Can't Cancel. Cookies help us deliver our Services.

My review of BroadwayHD is 5-STARS - my review of FireTV - negative 1 star.
I'd suggest the same thing the others have: get just a one-month subscription every so often. It’s not worth a monthly subscription until they upload more shows on there honestly. All critical reviews › J. I just want in-focus footage with a center, full-view perspective of the entire stage with the sound board feeding into it.

No curtain time.

I would just google this, but I'm having a hard time finding more than one or two reviews of the service. I use Netflix because there’s a wide variety, the catalog is continuously refreshed, and they have some great (and not-so-great) original content. Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2019.

I feel like most of the shows that get filmed have lead actors who are SAG members, so there’s not as much red tape. Useful review? I liked being able to stream the few shows they had that I couldn't find elsewhere and watched my way through most of them in that weekend. That’s already better than any bootleg!

I think it might have to do with the fact that most of the stuff they stream airs for FREE on PBS first? Hell, I don’t even need a recording with close-ups and fade-ins.

Yep, that’s exactly how I feel.

Filmed shows, anniversary concerts and so much more are available on the website. I can either watch it for free on PBS when it airs, or with some of the older stuff, buy it on DVD for a one-time purchase of <$10 and watch it as much as I want! I have kept mine, though, because I’ve enjoyed seeing other things. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Directed by: Michael Mayer and Robert Delamere

EDIT: I didn’t so much make this post to ask whether or not I should buy a BroadwayHD subscription, but more to open up a discussion about why it doesn’t seem appealing. I was fortunate enough to see it live as a very generous birthday present, and I would gladly pay to watch a high quality recording.

Totally agree about the exclusivity. I don't have a subscription, what has stopped me from getting one is that it seems like there isn't enough content to make it worth it.

It is not worth it until they fix the technical issues. After viewing product detail pages, look here to find an easy way to navigate back to pages you are interested in. And the catalog only seems to be updated every couple of months?

I don’t feel the same “NEED” pull toward BroadwayHD even though I love Broadway leaps and bounds more than Stranger Things or Disney. Watch from the comfort of your home!

$0.00 with a BroadwayHD trial on Prime Video Channels. I was offered a free 7 day trial through a couple of different services and I tried it last weekend.

I would gladly pay for that. I would just google this, but I'm having a hard time finding more than one or two reviews of the service. Like, I’ll get a one-month subscription like, once a year and just binge all the new stuff. All of that equals exclusivity—a NEED for Netflix.
